363 George St EnvelopeI will start the cactus model by defining the the elevator shaft. Using the shaft as a starting point I will then go through individual voids using the extruded cut function.
The revolve and sweep tutorial was fairly easy. I have used a similar concept in 3d studio max to sweep and revolve. I am beginning to like the property manager because it holds so many variables for different features.
Out of the three tutorial this was the most difficult. Bending the part with the flex feature by selecting the trim planes was a difficult concept for me to understand. But in the end I prevailed and completed the tutorial.
Solidworks feels like a very useful program. I have used vectorworks before and I think it has some similar characteristics. This tutorial on parts gave me a fairly basic idea on what this program can produce.
